Privacy Policy

Sleeping Bunny (sleepingbunny.com.au) is an Australian business. We collect the minimum personal information needed to sell and deliver our products, and we handle it in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. The short version: we collect what we need to ship your order and help you, we never sell your data, and you can ask us what we hold about you at any time.
What we collect
- Order details — your name, email address, phone number, and delivery address, so we can process and deliver your order.
- Payment information — payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection; we never see or store your full card number.
- Waitlist and newsletter emails — if you join the Sleep System waitlist or subscribe to updates, we store the email address you give us, what you signed up for, and when.
- Support correspondence — emails you send us, so we can resolve your enquiry and keep a record of it.
- Basic, anonymous site analytics — if enabled, we use a privacy-focused, cookie-less analytics service (Plausible) that records page views without identifying you. We do not use advertising trackers or cross-site cookies.
What we use it for
- Fulfilling orders: charging payment, arranging delivery, and sending you order and tracking confirmations.
- Running the 100-night trial and warranty: matching returns and claims to orders.
- Responding to support enquiries.
- Sending waitlist or newsletter emails you asked for — every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Meeting legal obligations, such as Australian tax and consumer-law record keeping.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who need it to do their job for you, and only the minimum they need:
- Delivery carriers — your name, address, and phone number, to deliver your order.
- Stripe — to process payments. Stripe may process data on servers outside Australia (including the United States); Stripe maintains its own privacy and security certifications.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser local storage to remember your cart between visits. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. If we enable analytics, it is a cookie-less service that cannot identify you across sites.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for at least five years to meet Australian tax and accounting requirements. Waitlist and newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Support correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful for resolving issues, then deleted.
Access, correction, and deletion
You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (we may need to keep order records the law requires us to keep). Email hello@sleepingbunny.com.au and we will respond within 30 days.
Data breaches
If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected customers and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at hello@sleepingbunny.com.au and we will do our best to fix it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
